How to draw a dragonfly – allow’s contact form!

Stage 1

When you look closely at a dragonfly, you see that they have many different sections to its body, making them difficult to draw. No need to worry, though, as we’ll gradually bring each province as we operate via this focus on removing a dragonfly. In this first step, we will focus on the head and the beginning of the insect’s body. For the head, you can draw rounded shapes with another rounded section between them. Then use more curved lines for the beginning of the body or thorax. Once you’ve drawn all these aspects, we can move on to step 2 of the guide.

Step 2: Now draw the rest of the chest and legs.

To continue with this dragonfly drawing, the next thing we will draw will be the rest of the thorax. This will be attached to the section you drew earlier, but that section will be one larger shape instead of several smaller ones. Next, we’ll add thick angular lines running down the body of the dragonfly’s six legs. That’s all you require to do for this role, so when you’re prepared, we’ll move on to Step 3 of the guide.

Step 3: Draw the abdomen of the dragonfly.

The part we will draw in the next step of this guide on drawing a dragonfly may look like a long tail, but it is the insect’s abdomen. This abdomen will be long and thin and, like many other regions of the insect, will be created up of numerous small compartments. To draw it, add a row of small and long shapes that connect. Each section should be the same size and width, and some small shapes will come out of it.

Step 4: Next, draw the wings of this dragonfly.

Dragonflies are very good at gliding through the air, and they can do so thanks to their four wings. We will add this to your dragonfly drawing in the next step. Each wing is long, slender, and composed of a few rounded lines. They also start from a small area on the back of the dragonfly, as shown in our reference image. Step 5: Add Final Details to Your Dragonfly Drawing

Before adding color to your image, we’ll first fill in the final details and touches in this fifth step of our how to draw a dragonfly guide. The main aspect we will focus on will be drawing some details on the wings. The wings of a dragonfly have quite a complex marbled texture, and you can draw them using an intricate set of wavy, curved lines. Once you’ve drawn those lines, you can finish adding your extras! Step 6: Finish your dragonfly drawing with color.
